How can therapy help?
People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons and you don’t have to be ‘unwell’ to see one. Understanding the reasons behind your behaviours, decisions, reactions and responses empowers you to find ways to change and improve your life. Other reasons may be:
- You have lots of life decisions that are difficult to make sense of, and need help to do so by talking to someone who is removed from the situation
- You have stopped doing things you once enjoyed
- You may be feeling easily overwhelmed or not like yourself and can’t explain why
- You may need help improving a relationship or area in your life
A psychologist is a professional who looks at your mental health from a variety of perspectives in order to develop ways to empower people and help them thrive. We do this through understanding what is impacting you and giving you techniques to cope. Where do I start?
Making the decision to start therapy can be overwhelming and quite challenging, and we appreciate how difficult it is. Please read through our website, as well as the FAQ page, or find us on Instagram where you can find out more of what you can expect when attending therapy sessions.
You don’t need a referral to start therapy, however if you have a mental health care plan from your GP, this will enable you to receive a medicare rebate.
